Paragon?...what about the next chapter?
Few days ago i have created my paragon, even though thier not that great, i still like it. I dont play guild wars much, im just an on and off kinda guy.
Anyways... i was reading some threads about paragons and how their really not that great, not a good runner, and all that stuff. even i agree that their not that good either. but what about the next chapter? is there going to be another "character" that people wouldnt like much? <-i think this is the most stupidest question ever asked but would really like to know anyones opinion.

No one knows for sure, because Anet hasnt announced whether or not Campaign 4 will include new profession(s) or not. My guess is that if so at least one will be shunned at first, then as more and more useful builds for that profession are created, they will gain some measure of acceptance. (see Assassin or Mesmer during the first days of GW)
The majority of the GW player base (at least from what I've seen) believes that there is now plenty of professions and hopes that the next expansion will entail a huge continent compairable to or even larger than Tyria.

Prophecies: Mesmers are the less liked class.
Factions: Ritualists are the less liked class.
Nightfall: Paragons are the less liked class.
It'll probably go on for awhile.

I only heard about mesmers not being liked as much only recently. I see in-game chat that flame rits, assassins, and paragons all the time but I've never seen anything on Mesmers. Did i miss something?

You can't expect everyone to like all classes.

People flamed those classes because they're different from your average wammo, mage-like class, and trigger happy bowman.
What people dont understand, they shun out of the community, and unfortunately is always going to be like this.
We'll just have to wait for next chapter~ *loves the outcast professions*

I dont think any of those classes that Arkantos mentioned was actually hated. Its just that the three classes that he mentioned is the least effective classes in the respective chapters...
The profession that has received the most hate by far up to now has to be the sin.

This website actually did exist that long ago.
I really hope ANet stops making new classes.

I truthfully hope they don't stop making new classes, though eventually it's inevitable. I really enjoy the fact that I can try out new content, such as a new class, which is the main reason why I come back to the game. It'd kinda suck playing the same guys over and over again, with the only ability of getting some new skills that will either end up sucking so bad I don't want to use them, be so over powered they get nerf batted, or are so used that you have to go with a "cookie cutter" build to be able to do anything effective. Yea, new story content is always kickass...but it's the new types of characters that I can mix and match that keeps me coming back for more.

It's a mixed blessing adding more professions. People have their individual tastes and for me I don't play a mesmer, rit or assassin, although I'd probably play an assassin if I didn't already have 7 characters to play and plenty of things to do - you know, if I could retire and just play GW all the time!
As far as new professions I say mixed blessing because:
- it is good to get new shiny professions to play, new skills, armor, toys, ways of doing things
- it is bad as it adds yet another toon to play thru a lot of content
- it is good to stir up the mix of professions - at least in theory
- it is bad if they get shunned by the community
As far as a person playing a certain profession not being accepted by the crowds, the answer is easy: get in a good guild that accepts whatever you want to play. Naked elementalists FTW!

I didn't pay for stuff to stay the same.
Or for things to always turn out pretty.
Or for the game to be easy.
I want more classes, I want more skills, heck give us new everything. And with all that give us the ability to solve all the new problems and rewards that come with it as a community.
I think final answers are just a part of the game.
Pve's a big part having to do with exploration, mistakes and discovery.
So keep goin Anet
Challenge us with lots of good new stuff...and, I guess, lol... the requisite bad that's bound to come and balance it with.
Hey...
this is life
